Effects of climatic change in the interaction plant-ant: a mini review on thermal tolerance
Main Article Content
Abstract
There is no doubt that the climate will change in the future due to increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere caused by human action. It seems clear that these changes will have a significant impact on some human activities such as agriculture, and can also greatly affect the geographical distribution of living organisms. Ants and plants have a long evolutionary history. The activity of ants has been for plants in recent years a growing number of studies are highlighting the beneficial role plant-ants. Predicting future changes in the geographical distribution submit the interacting species, using mathematical and computer tools such as "species distribution models" at the change in climatic conditions, from the knowledge we have about its current distribution. The study of the effects that climate change will have on species interactions is an exciting challenge for scientists and is of vital importance.
