Biostimulants from Arthrospira ameliorate plant tolerance due drastic changes in the environment conditions: A review
Main Article Content
Abstract
The biostimulants are essential tools to ameliorate growth and tolerance of crops against frosts, extreme heat, drought, salinity and nutrient deficiency. The genus Arthrospira is being investigated for the biochemical composition (aminoacids, polysaccharides, antioxidants, vitamins, phytohormones and polyamines) that promote plant metabolism and growth. These substances participate in different metabolic pathways and help plants to recover due drastic changes in the environment conditions. The biostimulants mechanism of action changes because of the type of microorganism, substance amount, way to dosify, soil type and crop. The high-performance phenotyping allows the accurately evaluation of biostimulants direct effects. The biostimulant dosification from Arthrospira genus is presented as strategy to contribute in agriculture sustainability and food security.
